Tradition of Paithani Saris in India

The paithani sari from Maharashtra is part of a culture, not only for the state but also for India. These saris are not just silky saris of gorgeous deigns and color. Three types of silk thread are used in a paithani sari. Charka is extensively used but it is dull, uneven and cheap. The other type is called Ciddle –Gatta which is smooth, shiny and thin.
